Halfway Through 2013

We are halfway through 2013, the year of heart energy.  The year of heart energy means your experiences, lessons, and learning will be connected to your heart in some way.  Those lessons will have to do with love, happiness, fulfillment, and passion.

Let's take a look at the past few months:  March brought up patterns around the subjects of love, happiness, fulfillment, and/or passion.  Then in April, you decided what you were going to do about those patterns.  In May, you put that decision into action.  You created a new point of view, or a new life path.  This month will be about making choices from that new point of view.  You will be choosing how you want to live your life.  A life that includes heart energy.

As you work on your heart related lessons and patterns, remember to be kind to yourself.  Treat yourself the way you want others to treat you.  By dong this, you will be teaching others how to care for you.  This is because we learn by example.  You can tell someone how to treat you, but it will be your energy, and your actions, that show them how you really want to be treated.

Lessons and learning can sometimes be tough.  Below are a few tools to make the rest of your year a lot easier.

- Remember the basics.  Take care of you (on the inside).  This means pay attention to your thoughts, attitude, and energy.
- Meditate, take charge of your mind.  Patterns reside in your mind.  It makes sense to take charge of your mind, so your mind/patterns won't take charge of you.
- Journal and communicate.  Communicate with friends, family, or me.
- Use my free podcast and blog.
- I also recommend my meditation CD "Heart Play".  It's a perfect CD for this year!

We are halfway through the year.  You have done amazing work so far.  Know that.  Stay focused on your path, and the energy of your heart.  Use the tools I mentioned above, to make your journey simple and easy.  Remember to "Step out of your head and into your heart!"

Empower Yourself

The world is a speedy place, and the pace of life is getting faster all the time. Really, there's no slowing down. We can easily fall into a routine of go go go. When you're traveling at such a high rate of speed, you miss a lot, and you miss out on a lot.
My mission in my practice is to help people empower themselves. When you can relax your mind and body just a little each day, you are able to see more, feel more, and experience more. Your life becomes more fulfilling.  You bring depth and quality into your life, each and every day.
This month, try taking a few moments out of your day, each day, to slow down. You decide what you want to do in those few moments. Just be sure to stick with it. In time, those few moments will give back to you more than you could ever imagine. Sure, the world will still be speedy, and you may still be on the go. But, in the midst of it all, your life experience will have changed dramatically. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Calming the Mind

If you have worked with me, you'll know my work involves knowing and understanding the mind.  The mind rules us, so I feel we really can't ignore it.  I have also included meditation in my practice.  Meditation helps us take charge of the mind, so the mind won't take charge of us.

There are many different ways you can meditate.  One kind of meditation is an active style, like walking, reading, writing, cooking, or being creative.  Active meditation can consist of basically any activity you like, as long as it calms your mind.

Meditation can also be more passive, like a seated style of meditation.  With this kind of meditation, you may choose to incorporate music, candles, or you may want to hold something in your hands as you meditate.  These tools/objects will help you keep your mind occupied.  They give your mind something to focus on, so you can meditate.  Otherwise, your mind may try to interrupt you with thought after thought, about anything other than meditation.

If you're new to meditation, your goal is to create your meditation around something you enjoy.  When you like what you're doing, you'll want to do it often.  It won't be forced.  Another important key when creating your meditation practice is making sure you have an intent.  Your intent will set the direction for your meditation.  Without an intent, you'll feel like you didn't accomplish anything, because you simply didn't have a reason to meditate.

This past month has been extra challenging for most of us.  This means it's a very good time to develop, or deepen your meditation practice.  If you've felt out of balance and unfocused this past month, your mind has a lot to do with it.  Something has occurred in your life to make your mind feel this way.  Meditation is the perfect remedy.  See if you can develop, or further develop your meditation practice this month. Remember:  Create your own style, and make it enjoyable.  By next month, you'll find it easier to stay calm and focused, no matter what life brings your way.

Free to Choose

We are all free to choose who we are, how we feel, where we live, and what we do from day to day.  We are free to choose how we live every part of our lives.  Yet how often do you feel that you don't have a choice?  When we're in our pattern, we don't see that we have a choice.  We do what we have always done.  We act, speak, and think just like the same 'ol person we always have been.

When you finally say, "Enough is enough," you can ask yourself, "What other choices do I have?"  At this point, you can either take the path that you normally would take (following your pattern),  or you can look to see what other choices are available to you.  Just know that you'll always have a choice, no matter what your goal or your situation is.  It's your pattern that tells you that you only have one choice.

If you're having a hard time seeing any choice other than the one you normally would take, you need to clear your mind.  To do this, you'll want to do something calming, like meditation, yoga, or going for a walk:  anything quiet that helps relax your mind.  Your intent is to see your choices.  This is what your mind will be focusing on when you're doing your calming activity.

If you don't get an answer right away, then wait a day or two.  A lot of times it's hard to see beyond our patterns, and hear our choices.  You will get  an answer in time as long as you're asking to see other choices.  Be open to your answer and be patient.  You will get what you're asking for.

Remember to keep your mind and your options open.  If you get stuck trying to decide which way to go, use your calming tools:  meditation, yoga, walking, or anything that will help relax your mind.  Knowing that you always have a choice is an empowering thing.  It's a sense of freedom that everyone can attain.  Always know that you are free to choose who you are, and to create the life you truly want.

Building Your Relationships

Creating, building and growing relationships is a wonderful thing.  I am referring to any kind of relationship:  friends, family, work, and intimate.  Relationships can begin easily enough, but maintaining a good, healthy, strong relationship takes just a little know-how.

First, begin by watching yourself as you interact in your relationships.  Ask yourself how you feel in your relationships.  Are you communicating your needs to the other person?  And are you taking care of your needs as well?  Are you treating the other person as you would like to be treated?

If something is missing or something is bothering you, it's you who needs to make a shift.  Stay positive and do little checklist on yourself.  Make sure you first know what it is you want.   Then look at how you are communicating with the other person.  This is so important.  Do your best to communicate; never assume anything.  And never expect the other person to assume anything about you.

Then look at how you treat the other person.  Is that how you want to be treated?  And please, don't forget about you.  Be sure to include yourself in your relationship(s).  Let the other person know what you like, and what you don't like.  Stay positive and do this without pointing out their faults.

You can create, build and grow your relationships to be anything you want them to be.  Your relationships can feed you, instead of draining you.  Give it a go this month, and I'll bet you'll see a difference by next month.

2013 is the Year of Heart Energy

Step out of Your Head and into Your Heart.

The energy of 2013 is all about the heart.  When you're in your heart, all things are possible.  As opposed to your mind, where blocks, negative patterns and habits reside.  Negative patterns and habits develop into negative emotions such as fear, sadness, depression, anger, hate and jealousy.  In time, those patterns/emotions can lead to addiction, disease, abuse, crime, war…

There has been an energetic shift on the planet recently.  The shift is exactly in alignment with the energy of the heart.  Which means we have an open door to simply walk through, if we choose.

As you walk through this door know that you won't be able to bring your old patterns with you.  Old patterns can't exist in the energy of the heart.  You may have noticed that a lot of deep rooted lessons came up for you in 2012.  Lessons that brought positive changes into your life.  Those changes paved the way for this shift of heart energy.

Now more than ever is the time to release the past.  Leave the past in the past.  It's done, it's gone.  It served a purpose.  It brought you to this moment.  The energy of 2013 is about being in the moment, being present, being completely in your heart.

I am completely thrilled about this open door of heart energy.  Each and every person on this planet has the opportunity to walk through this door.  As you pass through the door, know that anything is possible as long as your energy is in your heart.  Do your best to go beyond believing this.  Know it.  Live it.  Know it in your mind and body.  Step out of your head and into your heart.  Happy heart filled new year to you!

Finding Focus

If you’re feeling out of balance, confused or unhappy, having a focus can change your whole way of thinking.  When you’ve got focus, you are taking action towards a goal.  It gives you direction and a path to follow.

To get focus, the first step is to know what you want.  What is it that you’re after?  This can be anything, big or small.  You might desire something outside yourself, like a new job or relationship.  Maybe you want to better yourself as a person, and develop yourself inside.  Whatever you want is perfect.  This will be your intent.

The next step is to see your intent in your mind.  An excellent place to practice this is during your mediation time.  How you meditate is up to you.  What works best for you?  A formal seated mediation, or an active mediation, such as walking?  If you force yourself into a style of meditation that doesn’t suit you, it just won’t work.  You won’t enjoy it, and you’ll end up not wanting to meditate.  So be sure to find something that’s right for you.

Now it’s time to take action, and focus.  Each day, focus on taking an action towards your intent.  You might notice your mind playing tricks on you, telling you you’ll never accomplish your goal, or even saying that you won’t be able to focus long enough to manifest your intent.  Know this so you can bypass it.  Do your best not to give this kind of thinking any energy.  Stay focused.  Simply take an action with amazing focus each and every day.

Lastly, have fun with it!  Use focus anytime, and for anything you desire.  Working with focus is a perfect way to bring balance, serenity and inner strength back into your life.  You’ll be surprised how much energy this will give you, not to mention how many goals you’ll be able to accomplish.
